The Board of Review's decision letter explains the property owner's further rights of appeal. One such right of appeal is to PTAB. However, the right to appeal to PTAB is conditioned. First, the property owner had to have timely appealed the Assessor's 2019 assessed value to the Board of Review and had to have received a decision from the Board. Second, the appeal to PTAB must be timely filed on the PTAB approved form. A PTAB appeal regarding a property's 2019 assessed value must be filed within thirty (30) days after the Board of Review transmits to the County Assessor its final action on the township in which the property is located. Appeals to PTAB must be filed as "hard copy;" you can not file the appeal electronically. This afternoon the Board of Review posted (for the first time) on its web site that it transmitted the final results of the New Trier 2019 property assessment appeals to the Cook County Assessor on December 20, 2019. If you are going to appeal to PTAB, we strongly suggest that you file your appeal, or have it postmarked, no later than Friday, January 17, 2020.
