Commencing Tuesday, March 17 the New Trier Assessor’s office will be closed to the public. We will be monitoring the situation for the next 14 days. During that period we will be taking calls during regular business hours at 847-446-8200. You can always reach us via email: jchurchwell@newtriertownship.com and lshifflett@newtriertownship.com. Appeals to the Cook County Assessor for 2020 Assessments are due on or before April 14th. During the appeal period, we will be assisting residents wishing to file appeals. If you have other questions for us that aren’t as time-sensitive, we ask that you delay them until conditions return to normal.
The Cook County Assessor has asked that all appeals to his office be filed online. You will find directions for filing on line on the New Trier Township Assessor’s webpage (newtriertownship.com), and of course we will assist you to get the best information possible for your appeal. We will also assist residents who don’t have computers.
We recommend that you check websites frequently during this rapidly expanding crisis. For our part we will do our best to keep you informed of the current status of issues relating to property assessments and taxes.
